Evo 5 Rs

In september we got to test the Evo RS for the first time after rebuilding the engine with 2,3 stroker kit. We also added new 300 lph walbro gas pump. This was at a full weekend event, Gatebil festival at Rudskogen Raceway.
We used most of friday on adjusting boost pressure and fuel pressure.
On saturday the car worked well and we had great fun. We were far from the fastest but far from the slowest on the track. : )
On sunday we also had some rain, most of the other drivers didnt care much for it,but we then had the chance to really test the Evo sideways !  Great fun actually !
On our last stint on sunday I broke the release bearing fastener on the F1-racing clutch. Pretty sure its y own fault due to some stressful hours in the garage just before we put the car on the trailer :)
The weekend at Rudskogen was a blast and exiteing new experiance for us,and for sure there will be more racing for us next year !
I was very surprised we didnt have any mechanical issues with the engine, since its my first ever engine rebuild   !   Halleluja !

Now the Evo will be moved to bigger facili9ties for the winter. The engine and drivetrain will be taken out and will be upgraded further for next year. I will put some of our other projects on the market and put all efforts to the Evo in 2013.

Some of the plans :

*rebuild gearbox with Ppg Pfitzner 4 gear straight cut dogbox.
*1:5 or 2 way diffs all arround
*Ppg Pfitzner pinion and final drive gear in the rear diff
*Ppg pfitzner internal shaft on front diff.
*Sequential shift system (not decided on make yet)
*weight reduction by fiberglass doors and lexan glass  (aprox. -70kg) : D
*Halltech platinum pro 1000 Ecu management system with dash logger
*Full turbokit and turbo system rebuild (make and setup not decided yet)
*Racefuel cell tank with extra pump and fuel rail and injector upgrade for E 85 fuel
*Racing radiator and fan upgrade (make not decided yet)  depending on the turbo setup, maybe we will set up the radiator and fans in the trunk.
*complete rebuild or replacement of the engine head (makes not decided yet)

If the time works on our side this winter we will have the engine promised to handle 900 hp,gearbox 1000hp+   *knock on wood*

What kind of power output the car will have next year, only time will tell !  I will have to sacrifice my excavator and my Mazda 323 gtr/evo ice racer to put all these plans to action. But hey.. I bet the Evo will be just as much fun as the excavator in the end ; )

Il make sure to update this blog as the build continues.
Follow us via email notifications by adding your email on the right.  Im grateful for feedback and critisism  :)

Wish me luck !
